How do I: Connect to XO-VAC+?¶
Collecting the necessary information¶
To connect to XO-VAC+, the following information is needed:
- XO-VAC+ IP address
- XO-VAC+ Network port
- XO-VAC+ Password
The default IP address and network are displayed at the back of the XO-VAC+. The default password is empty.
Warning
Do not wheel XO-VAC+ out while its vacuum system is operating as shocks or bumps can damage the turbopump.
Note
Updating or reseting XO-VAC+ will reset the IP address, the Network port and the password to the defaults.
Tip
Exobotics strongly recommends users to change the default password after the initial installation, updates or resets.
Choosing the type of connection¶
There are 4 ways of connecting to XO-VAC+:
- XO-VAC+ User Interface
- API
- SSH
- RDP
They all require XO-VAC+ and the Client PC to have to correct networking set-ups. Network configuration tutorials are available here
XO-VAC+ User Interface (recommended)¶
XO-VAC+ User Interface is the standard and recommended way of connecting to XO-VAC+. More information about how to use the XO-VAC+ User Interface is available here
APIs (beta)¶
APIs can be used to control XO-VAC+ User Interface. However, there are still an experimental feature and must be cautioulsy used.
SSH¶
SSH can be used to remotely access the XO-VAC+ embedded server to configure or maintain it. The detailed steps to initate a SSH connection with XO-VAC+ are available here
Tip
SSH is not a requirement for XO-VAC+ to run. Users can deactivate SSH.
RDP¶
RDP can be used to remotely access the XO-VAC+ embedded server to configure or maintain it. The detailed steps to initate a LAN connection with XO-VAC+ are available here
Warning
It is recommended to always keep either SSH or RDP activated to allow for maintenance and configuration of the XO-VAC+ server.
Tip
RDP is not a requirement for XO-VAC+ to run. Users can deactivate RDP.
