Parameters

Prior to commencing a run the user will be asked to select the reference sensors for the run. The reference sensor is the sensor against which the XO-VAC+ run algorithm compares the actual and target temperatures. In other words, if the target temperature for a step is -15C, the system will run until the temperature has stabilised at -15C at the selected reference sensor.

Where more than one sensor is selected as reference sensor, the system will run taking the mean value across the selected sensors. Heat exchanger sensors are those located at the internal face of the heat exchanger at the back of the chamber. These sensors may be selected as reference, but not in conjunction with chamber sensors. Note that target temperatures will be reached much more quickly at the heat exchanger sensors, which may differ from the chamber temperatures by several degrees.

Before commencing a run, consideration should be given to the likely run duration. It should be noted that run times may exceed those specified in a test recipe, since ramp steps will generally take a minimum of 3-6 hours to complete (see here for more information). It is recommended that the data logging interval in the Settings page is set to an appropriate value for the length of run, to avoid generation of excessively large run files.

Other run parameters available for modification by the user are available on the Settings page of the user software. For more information on use of these settings see here
